Hello, I have a 1999 Corolla that acts like it has a rev-limiter after the engine is up to temp and I try to accelerate hard like to pass another car. When it is cool and has not reached temp yet(temp gauge is still low)the problem doesn't happen. I can accelerate and pass like it should. When engine is up to temp I can cruise all day long at 65-70 mph but if I put my foot down to accelerate the engine misfires. I have put new plugs, wires, coils, temp sensor, ECM. The fuel filter is not plugged. As I said, the engine is flawless until it begins to warm up...then it will begin to misfire at a certain RPM everytime. Very predictable. It will not misfire in drive with my foot on the brake and other on the gas stalling the converter because it has not reached that certain RPM. The TrailBlazer was produced between 2002 and 2009. From 1999 to 2002 the TrailBlazer name was used as a high-end version of the Chevy Blazer SUV. Despite generally positive feedback and a good reliability rating, the TrailBlazer has been subject to several common problems that owners and potential buyers should be aware of. Electrical Problems Some of the most common problems with the TrailBlazer involve the vehicle's electrical system and accessories. Many drivers have experienced problems with the dashboard gauges, including the fuel gauge, speedometer and "check engine" warning light. Additional electrical problems include power automatic door locks and windows that fail to work or operate intermittently. These problems can be difficult to diagnose as they can result from anything from a faulty battery to problems with the wiring or other electrical components. Climate Control The air conditioning and heating systems are another cause of problems for many TrailBlazers. In some cases these problems are related to electrical issues such as blower fan motors that fail to work properly. This problem can affect either the front air vents or those positioned in the rear seating area, or both. Some drivers have complained that the air conditioner causes the TrailBlazer to lose significant power and in some instances stall completely. A 2005 recall was enacted to deal with windshields that had been improperly mounted on some 17,000 vehicles. In 2002 more than 133,000 vehicles were recalled because of another airbag problem that could cause injury when the airbag was deployed. A 2004 recall of 261,000 vehicles including some early TrailBlazers addressed faulty seat belt components that could prevent them from working properly in a crash. General Problems Another group of problems with the Chevy TrailBlazer involve general shortcomings as cited by drivers and automotive critics. Among these is the fact that the TrailBlazer received minimal updates from Chevy during the course of its production, leading its design to seem outdated. The lock is a solid cylinder within the door that connects to the door latch. Open up the door by removing the inner trim panel to take out the old lock. Install locks on all doors, or else you'll end up needing different keys for different doors. Difficulty:Moderate Instructions Things You'll Need Wire hook Screwdriver Lock cylinder Step by Step : 1 Raise the window all the way within the door, so it won't get in the way. Remove the window crank, if equipped, by inserting a special tool or a wire hook behind it to disengage the clip. 2 Remove the trim covers for the inside door handle, the pull handle and the mirror; these will all require a trim removal tool or small flat-head screwdriver. Remove the handle from the door by pulling out the mounting screws and disconnecting the electrical connector, then remove the screws and electrical connector behind the pull handle. 3 Remove the door's trim panel by inserting the trim tool behind the panel at the bottom and working around the panel to release the fasteners. Lift the panel up and off the door, disconnect any electrical connectors behind it and peel back the plastic protective water shield from the door. 4 Disconnect the rods connecting the outside handle to the latch and the door lock to the latch. Both of these have plastic clips to disengage by reaching through the access hole in the door. 5 Disengage the clip for the lock cylinder, and remove it from the handle and the door. 6 Install the new lock cylinder in the door and connect its clip, then reconnect the rods that link the latch to the lock and the handle. 7 Reconnect the door's inner trim panel in the reverse order of installation. Tips & Warnings Remember to get copies of keys to the new lock and discard the old keys.
